AUTHOR JOURNALIST LECTURER
Lisa Marks began her career as a journalist on the Southend Evening Echo at the age of 18. She freelanced for teen mags including Just Seventeen and BIG! before launching Now magazine in 1996 as showbiz editor. She went on to become a commissioning editor for the Daily Mirror and a reporter for Media Guardian before relocating to Los Angeles in 2007. In Hollywood, she wrote about the film, entertainment and culture scene and her weekly LA Diary was published on the Guardian film blog. Covering the movie junket circuit she also wrote celebrity profiles for The Scotsman, Grazia, Red and Sunday magazine (for the Sunday Telegraph in Sydney and the Sunday Herald-Sun). Lisa has also worked as a Showbiz Producer on the ITV daytime talk show Loose Women, and has lectured in journalism and magazine publishing at the University of Gloucester, Oxford Brookes University and the University of Winchester. Her roast chicken is pretty impressive too.
