If you’re an author who is self publishing, you will need an EPK.
So what is an EPK?
It’s an Electronic Press Kit and you will need this ready to roll ahead of marketing your book.
An EPK generally consists of various elements:
A press release – giving an overview of the book, launch dates, author bio, supporting reviews and contact information.
Book information – including the book’s title page, publication date and where it’s available to buy (usually contained within a press release).
Author’s bio – plus contact information and social media links.
Selling points – reasons why the book is interesting, timely, or relevant.
Promotional information – a link to the book on Amazon, a video trailer or sample social media posts.
Visuals – such as the book cover and photos of the author, or any other supporting information such as a selection of any photos contained within the book.
I offer a tried and tested EPK service, and can also consult with you about which media outlets to approach.

This is a bespoke service that I used for the marketing of my own book, Ryan is Ready for You Now, which culminated in radio interviews, book reviews in national magazines, interviews in newspapers and magazines, as well as promotion through book bloggers, local book lovers, and a writing competition ran in conjunction with my local paper.

My face on the front cover of the Southend Evening Echo, where I started my journalism career many moons ago. Oh, and some bloke called Hugh Jackman.
